Hard times of lockdown and all restrictions due to COVID-19 are not easy in terms of finalizing the Holisder project’s goals. We used this time for in-depth data analysis included in scientific papers.
The first one written by specialists from Tecnalia and Enedi, titled “Energy, Environmental and Economic Analysis of Air-to-Air Heat Pumps as an Alternative to Heating Electrification in Europe” you can already read HERE.
This article analyses air-to-air HP as an alternative to non-electric heating systems from and energetic, environmental and economic perspective. The study was run on a multifamily residential building in six different European countries to account for dissimilar outdoor conditions and electric
mixes. The aim of this comprehensive paper is to identify plausible heating production strategies which will rump up the decarbonization of Europe in the short term. Additionally, this will help to secure sustainable energy at an effective cost considering stricter technical standards. The mentioned
goals were set up based on the following dimensions: technical, energy intensity, carbon footprint and economical.
The second paper, written by Tecnalia and titled “Domestic space heating dynamic costs under different technologies and energy tariffs: case study in Spain”, will be presented and published soon, during ICEER 2020 in September. It is based on the software developed under the framework of HOLISDER Energy Tariff Emulator, which contributed to register a domestic heating costs calculator as an application.
Both papers include Holisder’s research outcomes elaborated during the project’s duration. We are really proud that our work is already used to support European building sector decarbonization and will contribute to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
